Chair - Melissa Watkinson-Schutten, she/her
Melissa is a dedicated social scientist, environmental researcher, and policy analyst who, after over a decade in public service with Washington State, launched her own consulting business to help organizations and businesses better serve both people and the planet. As an enrolled citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, she brings a unique perspective to her work, combining her expertise with a deep commitment to environmental and social equity. In her personal life, Melissa is a vibrant community member—coaching and playing soccer, practicing yoga, writing, and enjoying outdoor pursuits like crabbing, clamming, and fishing. Since moving to her community five years ago, she has served as MNC Board Chair (since 2022), using her leadership to further connect and uplift those around her.

Secretary - T.J. Vezina, he/him
T.J. is a dedicated Manette resident and proud 20-year submarine veteran. Being a resident of Manette for over a decade, he’s deeply committed to his family, friends, and the community that has shaped him. With a passion for service, he embraces every community event as an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others. As an Eagle Scout, he learned the importance of giving back and has carried those values throughout his life. When he’s not volunteering, you can find him enjoying the great outdoors with his wife following her up a peak in Olympic National Park. His hobbies include hiking, backpacking, and hunting. His drive comes from a commitment to leaving a positive legacy by working to make Manette better for future generations.

Communications - Stephanie Vezina
A proud Manette resident for over a decade, Stephanie has built a meaningful life in her community, where she and her husband have raised three daughters. Since joining the board in 2020, she has been actively involved in local initiatives. Now retired from real estate, Stephanie is pursuing an Environmental Science degree through Olympic College, driven by her passion for conservation and the natural world. An avid gardener, she loves hiking the Olympic Mountains with her spirited dog, Fern. Dedicated to service, Stephanie has volunteered with various organizations, including search and rescue, and is the proud spouse of a veteran submariner.

Deborah McDaniels, she/her
Deborah is a dedicated community member who has called Manette home since 1999, cherishing it from the moment she arrived. A retired Senior Technical Program and Project Manager, Deborah has a distinguished background in managing complex projects and driving teams toward success. As a breast cancer survivor, she embodies resilience and positivity, using her experiences to inspire and support those around her. Now in retirement, Deborah continues to be an active and valued part of the community she loves.
